Headland Hotel

Originally built as the private Torquay home for the Russian Royal Family, the Romanoffs, this elegant hotel sits majestically on the headland looking out to sea, The Headland Hotel is set in 2 acres of lovely grounds and offers stunning views across Torbay.  All of the tastefully decorated bedrooms have en-suite facilities and have direct-dial telephone, colour TV and tea/coffee makers.  The hotel offers 2 spacious lounge bars, Restaurant, outside swimming pool (seasonal), sauna, entertainment and Lift to most floors.  The Headland Hotel offers a free “taxi” service into town.

The Derwent Hotel - NOW 3 STAR

Situated close to the seafront and with easy access to the town centre via the promenade.  All the bedrooms have private facilities with colour TV, telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee makers.  As part of the Torquay Leisure Hotel Group, guests at The Derwent can take advantage of a range of leisure facilities including indoor & outdoor swimming pools, sauna and games room along with a choice of bars and entertainment.  Lift.

Excursions Included

December Tour

  • We enjoy an excursion to the historic port of Teignmouth where we enjoy some free time prior to making our way to Dawlish with its famous Black Swans.
  • An excursion which takes us to the Regency Town of Sidmouth, where we have chance to explore.

2017 Tours

Excursions for the February, April, September and the November Tours:

  • We enjoy an excursion which takes us to the vibrant town of Buckfastleigh dominated by the Benedictine Buckfast Abbey. On our return to the hotel we make a stop in Totnes.
  • An excursion which takes us Dawlish where we enjoy free time before continuing to Topsham, where we get chance to explore.

 

 

Excursions Included for the June & July Tours:

  • We enjoy an excursion which takes us to Dartmouth where we enjoy some free time to explore before our 1 ¼ hour River Cruise on the Kingswear Paddle Steamer. On the return to the hotel we enjoy a stop in Totnes.
  • An excursion which takes us Dawlish where we enjoy free time before continuing to Topsham, where we get chance to explore.
  • We spend the day in the vibrant, modern city of Exeter with its underground passages, museums, magnificent cathedral and Roman wall at the city’s historic quayside.
  • On the July Tour: We also include an excursion exploring Dartmoor, making a stop in the quaint village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor. Following some free time here we continue to St. Dominick where we visit Cotehele, a Tudor house with superb collections, garden, quay and estate.
