  • We enjoy a spectacular day on Lake Maggiore as we admire blossoming gardens, magnificent buildings, elegant villas and subtropical vegetation. We enjoy our private boat ride to Isola Bella with its sumptuous Baroque Palace and beautiful terraced garden with plants and flowers of various origins. A visit to the Palace is included. Following our time exploring Isola Bella we re-join our boat for our trip to Isola Dei Pescatori, a romantic ancient fisherman’s island village home to many restaurants and cafes. After this visit we enjoy our boat ride back to Stresa.
  • We enjoy a drive to San Filiberto, near Pella to join our boat for the trip on beautiful Lake Orta, the smallest pre-Alpine lake with a picturesque hilly landscape in which small villages are embedded. We visit the little island of Giulio famous for its 4th century church, the oldest in the region, where you will find precious frescoes dating back to the Renaissance.
  • We make our way by coach to the striking city of Bergamo. Structured in two levels, the lower city is more modern and dynamic, whilst the famous ‘upper city’ boasts a stunning historic centre full of monuments and works of art. You reach the ‘upper city’ by funicular (charge approx €2, not included), walk to the Piazza Vecchia, where the cathedral, the baptistery, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore with the Colleoni Chapel and the Palazzo della Ragione create a unique ensemble. Picturesque little streets with interesting small shops adorn this historic district.
  • We drive up by the shores of Lake Maggiore as we cross the border into Switzerland and make our way to Locarno, where there will be free time. The centre of the city is formed by the Piazza Grande, one of the most beautiful squares in Switzerland with many cafes and restaurants. Following this visit and staying in Switzerland we continue to Lugano, which lies in a bay on the northern side of Lake Lugano, surrounded by numerous mountains offering splendid views. The traffic-free historic town centre, the numerous buildings in Italianate Lombardy style, the exclusive museums, the mountains and the lake make it an ideal place to visit.
  • There will also be a free day to enjoy the facilities at the hotel or explore Stresa.
