We visit one of Scotland’s most beautiful heritage attractions, Rosslyn Chapel, which is one of the main filming locations of the film; The Da Vinci Code. We explore the capital of Scotland – Edinburgh, together with the Border Towns of Peebles & Kelso and also have time to visit the historic city of Stirling.

Excursions Included

We make our way to Rosslyn Chapel, founded in 1446 as a place of worship which became more popular as a visitor attraction following Dan Brown’s novel, The Da Vinci Code. Explore the Lady Chapel, count the Green Men, go down to the Sacristy, study the stained glass windows – there is so much to see. Following this visit we make our way to Edinburgh, where we spend the rest of the day.

We head into Peebles, a lovely genteel Borders town, where we spend some free time. In the afternoon we make our way to the historic town of Kelso, regarded as one of the region’s most charming towns with its cobbled streets, elegant Georgian buildings and French-styled cobbled market square.

In May: We make our way to Bo’ness and on to the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway where we enjoy a 10 mile, return, nostalgic steam train journey along the Forth Estuary, through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon viaduct. Following our train ride we re-join the coach and head to the historic city of Stirling with its Old Town.

In October: We make our way to the New Lanark World Heritage Site & Visitor Centre where we spend the morning exploring. In the afternoon we continue to Stirling for some free time.
