The Royal York & Faulkner Hotel

- We make our way to the pretty harbour village of West Bay, a gateway town to the Jurassic Coast and where the ITV drama ‘Broadchurch’ was filmed. After spending some free time here we continue to Weymouth with its clean golden sand and fine Georgian seafront, where we spend the rest of the day before returning to Sidmouth.
- We enjoy a visit to beautiful Forde Abbey, a treasure dating back almost 900 years. It is a family home as well as a living and breathing working estate. The stunning house – which over the centuries has been sympathetically converted from its monastic origins in 1141 to its present day as a family home. The house is surrounded by 30 acres of spectacular award-winning gardens. Our ticket includes a visit to the house with its Monastic rooms such as The Great Hall, The Monks’ Dormitory, The Cloisters & The Chapel. State Rooms include: The Saloon, The Upper Refectory, The Prideaux Rooms & The Oak Room and The Gardens.
February 2017 Excursions
- A visit to the delightful town of Ottery St Mary, steeped in centuries of history followed by free time in the lively market town of Honiton.
- We travel via West Bay to the delightful seaside town of Weymouth where we spend the day.
