Castle Howard is a place like no other. Castle Howard’s friendly and knowledgeable guides are on hand to share stories with you as you tour the house at your own pace exploring a treasure trove of inspiring architecture and interiors, as well as world-renowned collections.  Whatever the weather, the Castle Howard landscape brings out the colour and drama of the season.  With 1,000 acres of parkland to explore, Castle Howard is a haven of peace and tranquillity with extensive woodland walks, temples, lakes, and fountains.  The monumental landscape offers breath-taking views at every turn, taking in countryside of the Howardian Hills.  Later, we visit the traditional market town of Thirsk, nestled between the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.  Explore the historic streets, visit the World of James Herriot Museum, and enjoy the charm of cobbled squares, all surrounded by stunning landscapes.

Whitby is steeped in history with many visitor attractions that are connected to the town’s fascinating past. Perhaps visit the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, where you can learn about the famous explorer’s life in the port town.  Or be guided through the story and connection to the town of Dracula at the Dracula Experience.  A trip to Whitby wouldn’t be the same without climbing the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, counting as you go, and exploring the beautiful ruins which tower over the town.
